| Chris Woon is a journalist, except he uses a camera instead of a pen to tell his stories. And the subjects of his pursue are couples about to embark on a journey of marriage and lifetime commitment. |
| What sets Chris apart from his peers in the wedding photography business is his ability "to capture the real moments." "Couples want not only beautiful images but real moments that truly reflect their personalities," said the warm-mannered Chris, who started his photography vehicle Moretopurple explains. |

The nod of approvals from the couples and their families is not the only pat on the back Chris gets for his dedication to his chosen craft.
Barely a few months after Chris setup his company, Moretopurple was inducted into the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AGWPJA], an establishment that recognises and promotes fine art wedding photojournalism. He was also awarded Associate qualification as a Master Photographer within the Master Photographer Association in the UK [AMPA]. |
Some people stumble upon their career. For Chris, this is certainly true. His love affair with photography began when he bought his first camera more than ten years ago for an overseas trip he went on.
The initial interest developed into a deep passion when he was preparing for his own wedding a few years back. The experience enthralled him so much that he subsequently decided to make professional photography his source of livelihood. |
His success with the camera has seen him covering weddings in faraway destinations such as Gold Coast, Venice, Rome and Paris. Wherever he goes, however, Chris never fails to execute the jumping shot.
Far from being mean, he clarifies that "the jumps serve as a recollection of how the couples felt when they had their many 'firsts' together, especially when their hearts jump with joy [at the thought] of these beautiful memories. |
