There are few more traditional and time-honoured ceremonies than a wedding. Many of the common aspects, including the rings, the tiered cake, and the white bridal gown date back centuries but in modern times there is more room for self expression within the traditional framework and many couples want a more individualistic ceremony and celebration which is a better reflection of their own characters and relationship. Modern technologies have certainly helped these freedoms to explore the possibilities and in particular when recording the events of the day. This is where the wedding videographer comes in.
The classic old posed shots of the couple, attendants and families had more to do with the limitations of the technology than any wedding tradition. Now with digital imaging and processing, there is no requirement for such stock wedding images. unless you require them. Increasingly, people are looking for more movement and for the permanent record of the day to reflect the emotions and the personalities on show rather than simply the rituals and ceremonial aspects. A modern wedding photographer can certainly provide that, through a reportage or paparazzi style approach but a videographer goes one step further and adds sound and moving images which bring the day to life each time you view the wedding video.
In the early days of video, wedding videography was slow to catch on. The process was time-consuming and often felt intrusive and the recording itself was often poor quality and on tape which degrades over time. Just like with modern wedding photography styles, video can be used unobtrusively to capture special moments as they happen and with quick and efficient editing it is possible to have a video of the build up and ceremony shown at your wedding banquet.
